2012 Specialized Hardrock Disc

Specialized takes entry level to the next level with the Hardrock Disc. Crafted from their A1 Premium aluminum, the frame is light, durable and nimble, while the SR SunTour fork offers up 80mm of bump-busting travel. Its tough Alex rims will stand up to years of commuting and singletrack riding, and the SRAM 21-speed drivetrain will get you up any climb. Plus, the Hardrock comes with Tektro disc brakes for all-weather stopping power, a suite of low-maintenance Specialized components and a supportive Body Geometry saddle.

I loved this bike from the moment i got it. The price is great, and the bike runs like a well oiled engine. So in other words no problems. The bike shifts flawlessly and handles perfectly. I would recommend this bike to the entry-level through intermediate-level mountain biker.

Got it today. It was alright. It was not for me. Kinda of steep for the price. But you pay for the brand i guess. dont know why specialized are bringing down the components every year. still a decent bike. i guess you shouldnt complain. it does look good. much more worth it then walmart and candiann tire bikes

      Comments:

I do not own a vehicle so this bike has to do everything possible and off road you don't have to worry about the bike so you can enjoy the ride instead!I was kinda upset that the graphics on the bike on the web site were not on the bikes in stock so if that's important check into before purchase because you may have to special order. Been with Specialized my whole life, rockhopper, stumpjumper and now hardrock and will never change!

        Comments:

I ride this bike mostly on dirt trails with some pretty uneven terrain and steep hills. It handles well and shifts smoothly. The forks are sufficient for the task. Although the brakes can get squeaky very quick, they stop well. Just clean the mechanism thoroughly after a ride and you're good-to-go for next time. As with any bike you need to accessorize. A good pair of knobby tires and better pedals make a big difference. Overall, a good value for the price.

The perfect bike for milder trails - I wouldn't want to be jumping any logs, but then again my MD says I shouldn't be doing that stuff anymore anyway. It has done just fine on some 2-track and the abandoned roads in the CVNP.

This bike is great. I took it to Mammoth in July and it survived off the top to kamakazi. Iv been riding at Mt. Baldy and it is great. I got it tuned up and everything works the way its suppost to. i just dont like how noisey the brakes are but i know there stopping me. You can also adjust the suspension for diffrent terrains witch is great also. if you want a great bike with a low cost get this one.
