I am pretty heavy, 300+. this bike feels very sterdy under me and rides very smoothly. I upgraded from a trek navigator. this bike has really flattens hills and increased my speed by about 5mph. I cant bring myself to get back on the trek after riding this
I ride 2 to 3 times/week. I have put 150 miles and the bike is really light, responsive and fast. I can get upto to 26m/hr within seconds and i'm not in the bes shape. The only thing i don't like is the shifters don't shift smoothly but that's what you get for Shimano 2300.I did replace the seat with an Idamo and the tires replaced with Gatosskin tires after 1 flat.perfect bike for entry level and the design is absolutely awesome.
I traded up from a trek hybrid, this bike is exactly what I expected, I am in love!!!
Great entry level bike. Comfortable, assuming you get fitted. Light frame, responsive.
The folks at the Bike Barn in Clear Lake were awesome. They provided guidance and suggestions for me when I was looking for a bike. No pressure sales for bikes or equipment. They also gave great advice on what I really needed for the ride I am training for, as well as what I needed to get later on (as far as gear and / or equipment). The bike itself is wonderful. My previous bike was a standard, Wal Mart Mountain Bike type. Good for brush rides but not so great for a long distance rides. This bike (Specialized / Secteur / Compact) is lightweight, agile, and tough and performs on the mark. It may not be fancy or too high tech but one of its greatest features is its simplicity. The bike is great and the staff at the Bike Barn in Clear Lake, Texas was / is awesome as well. I would recommend both the bike and the Bike Barn to my family, friends and professional associates as well. Thanks!!
